Sugata (Shape): Shonogi-zukuri, Iori-mune, Sori Asaku (Shallow Curve), Chu-kissaki.
Jihada: Itame mixed with Mokume, very fine, there are Jinie.
Hamon: O-gunome, deep Nioi with Ko-nie, there are Sunagashi, a lot of Ashi, Nioi-guchi clear.
Boshi: Ko-maru, Hakikake and turn-back.
Nakago: Ubu, Iri-yamagata, Yasuri-me is Sujikai, One Mekugi-ana, long sign on the front, Nenki on the back.
Description: Sukenao was born in Go-shu Takagi and called Magodayu. He was a disciple of Tsuda Sukehiro and became the husband of Sukehiro’s sister later. He excelled at Toranba which was created by his master. This sword shows O-gunome like Toranba, shows one of his styles, and well-made.
With Shirasaya and Kinkise Hitoe-habaki. The 15th Juyo Token.

【重要刀剣図譜より】
形状 鎬造、庵棟、反浅く、中鋒。
地肌 板目杢交り、よくつみ、地沸つく。
刃文 大互の目、匂深く小沸つき、砂流しかかり、足よく入り、匂口冴える。
帽子 小丸、先掃きかけて返る。
茎 生ぶ、先入山形、鑢目筋違、目釘孔一、表に長銘、裏に年紀がある。
説明 助直は江州高木の産で、通称を孫太夫と言い、津田助広の弟子で、のち妹婿となったと伝える。作風は師の創始した濤瀾刃を得意とした。この刀は濤瀾調の大互の目で、助直の一作風を示して出来がよい。白鞘、金着せ二重はばき、第15回重要刀剣鑑定書。
